Sylvester Taylor

Sylvester Taylor, fondly known as Ochee, also known as Sylky and Vest, was born December 11, 1949 to Augusta and Eddie Taylor, in Inverness, Mississippi. In 1955 the family moved to Chicago, Illinois.
Sylvester was enrolled in the Chicago Public School system. He attended Edward Hartigan Elementary School on 41st and State Street and he graduated from Wendell Phillips High School on 39th and Calumet. He was employed as a clerk for the Chicago Traffic Courts. He worked for several years.
Ochee came from a large family that he loved very much. Although he never married nor had children, but he was surrounded by his siblings and lots of nieces and nephews whom loved him.
Sylvester also had a great love for music. He was a song writer and had several catalogs of songs that he wrote, something he enjoyed very much, always writing the next big hit.
