Thelma Flemister

–

Chicago, Illinois

Thelma Ophilia Flemister, known lovingly to many as "Angel," was born in Chicago, Illinois, on January 15, 1981. Thelma was a thoughtful and ambitious woman, who dedicated her life to the safety and well-being of others, both in her professional career as a security officer and in her personal life as a devoted and loving mother. Her supportive nature was evident in everything she did, from her dedication to her work to her unwavering commitment to her children. As a woman of faith, Thelma was baptized at the young age of 13 and held steadfast in her Christian beliefs throughout her life.

Thelma was a woman of many talents and passions. Her love for computers was unmatched -- there was nothing she didn't know about them. She expressed her creativity through the decoration of her home for holidays and events, and her artistic talent shone through in her drawings. Known for her love of shopping, Thelma's vibrant personality and spirit were reflected in her love for fashion and design. But above all, what mattered most to Thelma were her children. She never wanted them to struggle with anything, and she gave everything she could to ensure their safety and happiness.

As written by her siblings, "God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. With the help of his angels, they flew you to your heavenly place till we meet again. WE LOVE YOU OUR ANGEL." Thelma is survived by her children, Dawon Johnson, Barbara Plair, Miracle Flemister, Maria Flemister, Trinity Flemister, Vincent Plair, Devon Johnson, and her fiance Vincent Sr. She is also survived by her mother, Willa Flemister. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Flemister.

Thelma's wake will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 am CDT at Mt Carmel Bible Church, 740 East 42nd Street, Chicago, Illinois, 60653.
